Voice Technology Division
Ascent has developed AscenTel™, proprietary technology software that enables companies of all sizes to deliver enterprise and Internet data to their customers and mobile employees using voice: either via a wireless or a landline telephone. AscenTel™ uniquely voice-enables all business applications running on any operating system using VoiceXML enhanced with Natural Language Processing. Users now have the ability to request and receive information verbally from enterprise databases and can also conduct transactions over an authenticated, secure and reliable infrastructure. The technology provides the ability for “hard” or written confirmation, either via e-mail or on the user’s handheld/wireless device. An earlier version of the product, developed as a voice browser, was showcased at Internet World 2000 in New York in November 2000.
